BCK ENGINEERING - WASTE MANAGEMENT HIERARCHY
The MD of BCK Engineering is a long term supporter and Chartered Manager within the Chartered Institute of Waste Managers (CIWM). BCK are driving a new Material Capture Hierarchy to replace the traditional hierarchy. (See Flow Chart).
Developing a waste management hierarchy is a crucial step in promoting sustainability and minimizing environmental impact. A well structured hierarchy helps prioritize waste management services, guiding us towards a more effective waste reduction strategy. At BCK Engineering, we have taken a foreword thinking approach that has led to the material capture hierarchy which meets the business space in which we occupy.

The waste management hierarchy is a framework that ranks waste management strategies in order of environmental preference. The traditional hierarchy consists of five levels: Prevention, Prepare for re-use, Recycling, Energy Recovery & Disposal.
The 10Rs:

BCK Engineering: New Approach is to capture and implement a modern view of the Waste Hierarchy. We believe these detailed groupings not only extend the lifetime of our products, seamlessly capturing exactly what our waste professionals have been looking for., but also move us away from a Linear approach towards a circular society.
Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture and Repurpose.
aligning with our work scopes.

Moving from a Linear Economy towards a Circular Economy
Research proves that a circular economy development path has substantial additional economic benefits for economies.
Moreover, the relative scarcity of resources other than oil and gas in the Gulf states would provide an incentive to embark on a path towards a more circular economy.
The concept has the potential to reduce waste production, reduce dependence on imports of raw critical materials; Increase employment opportunities as well as decreasing the environmental footprint of GCC Countries.
